for underprivileged children and young people overseas
Our Overseas Mission
We are a UK charity with a mission to support underprivileged children and young people overseas, providing tangible items requested by the children's carers.
Our Home Mission
"It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35) We want to play a part in blessing you, so we invite you to support a specific project, and we provide "before" and "after" photos so you can see what your donation has helped accomplish. More than that, Jesus said, "Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where theives do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:20)
IRINGA STREET CHILDREN
A British charity, FISCH, is working in Iringa to improve life for these children, not least by providing a Drop-In Centre. Our supporters have paid for uniform and stationery to enable children to attend school, Bibles and musical instruments to help them in their worship together, sewing machines to give them their own means of support, vocational training, football boots, and laundry detergent to wash their kit. Our targets were far exceeded!
'FATHERLESS GENERATION' in South Africa
Helderberg Academy addresses a 'massive need in South Africa for the fatherless generation', by teaching life skills through the medium of sport. Our supporters enabled us to give them £802 to provide prizes, equipment and kit - balls, Bibles, slalom poles, socks and boots - for holiday clubs and weekly coaching. Sports played include rugby, netball and football.

TOOLS FOR SELF-RELIANCE
In memory of Bob Cook, the late father of our trustee, Chris, we have just arranged with Tools for Self-Reliance to provide kits of refurbished carpentry tools to five locations in Malawi. These will be used to give vocational training to young people. Bob loved working with wood and produced impressive results, like making a wardrobe smaller by cutting out some of the middle and joining the two halves back together again - seamlessly! As the projects progress we will be able to share photos and updates on the kits in use.
The kits will be assembled in the UK from second-hand tools sourced here and refurbished by volunteers, and then shipped to Malawi.
During Lent we are raising money to provide more kits, using 'Count Your Blessings'.
Coronavirus - How it Affects this Project
The pandemic is expected to delay shipment to Malawi, but it will not affect the kits or how they are used.
100% of the money you give is directly used to support children and young people in need, except for transaction fees!
